The Advisory Team is a board of mostly pastors and elders established to provide biblical counsel, accountability, oversight, and care for Westrock Church during its foundational season. As Westrock begins, the church is led by two internal elders, Eric Manjarrez, Lead Pastor, and Robert Batrez, Associate Pastor. While this provides real pastoral leadership in this early stage, the Advisory Team exists to come alongside that leadership with added outside wisdom, accountability, and support, especially for the Lead Pastor. This reflects the New Testament pattern of healthy churches being led with pastoral plurality, counsel, and accountability. The Advisory Team will primarily serve as a source of counsel, accountability, and care for the Lead Pastor, while also providing wisdom and support for the church as a whole. The Advisory Team will serve in this role until Westrock Church has established at least three qualified, called, assessed, and trained internal elders.
